How can I avoid Scams

All I can tell you is that 98% of Internet Marketing Businesses on the Internet are Scams. Even I have been scammed in the past. It is really unfortunate, because it makes doing business on the Internet that much harder. However, there are some ways you can tell if a business opportunity may be a scam.

  1. If you receive an email from someone who is selling you a business opportunity and you have not requested this information, then just hit the delete key on you computer, or report this person to your hosting service for sending you spam. Most legitimate business opportunities will list in their Terms Of Service that SPAM is not tolerated and that anyone  caught doing this will have their account terminated and will contact the appropriate authorities.

  2. You visit a website who is selling you a product, but doesn't tell you what the product is unless you give them your contact information. I personally hate this and usually move on.

  3. There is no contact information of the owner of the business opportunity on the website.

  4. The claims and promises on the website are unrealistic. For example, the business claims that you will be a millionaire within one month of joining or you get your money back. I can almost guarantee that you will never see the refund.

  5. If the Business Opportunity has a seal from Paypal, contact Paypal and ask them if the business is verified by Paypal.

  6. Search Google for any information if the business has any complaints against it. A great website is http://www.ripoffreport.com. Another website is www.scam.com. The only caution on forum websites is that sometimes people will claim another business opportunity is a scam so they can promote their business instead. Try to find as many resources as possible about the business opportunity.

  7. Contact the company directly and ask them hard questions about the business opportunity. If they don't respond or try not to answer your questions directly, then move on.

  8. If you receive a call from someone you left your contact information with and they ask for your social Security Number, ask you questions about your salary, or promise to coach you for a fee, then DO NOT join this business, it is a SCAM.
