Deciding On An Internet Business
For whatever reason you have decided to start an Internet
Business, there are several items you must consider before spending any of your
hard earned cash.
Many Internet Marketers will try to convince you that you can
make 5 figure incomes every week, or that people will be flocking to your
website and buy your product within 15 minutes of creating a website.
Now if this were true, we would all be sunning ourselves on some
secluded Island with our own Butler, Maid, and Chef waiting for our beckoned
call. This could happen, if you spent years building your successful Internet
Business instead of 15 minutes.
Unfortunately, we have been programmed by society for Instant
Gratification, and if we don't get it, we move on spending much money to be
disappointed again.
The truth is that any real legitimate business, whether Online or Brick and Mortar needs time, dedication, and money to start and
sustain it. That's just the way it is.
Think about it. A new store opens up in your neighborhood. You
may pass it several times a week, but never stop in. Then you notice an
advertisement in the local paper and flyers posted on all the light-posts
inviting you in with special deals or discounts.
At that moment, you see an item listed in the advertisement
which peaks your interest and wallet. So you visit the store and decide to make
your purchase. When it's your turn to checkout, the cashier explains that you
will get an additional 10% off todays' purchase if you fill out a simple survey.
The survey asks you for your contact information, your buying experience, and
any items you wish to see sold in the future. This information is invaluable
because it helps the store owner find out more about the customer's buying
habits. For example, which prices on items attract the most customers. Which
items should be stocked the most. Which advertising generated the most traffic
to the store.
This example can also be applied to your Internet Business, for
no matter what you sell on the Internet, without advertising and targeted
traffic visiting your website, you will be out of business in no time.
Targeted Traffic will be discussed later on.
